Kia ora, I'm Lee

A creative therapist, a coach, a dad, a nature lover, a coffee nerd and a dog person

I help creative, sensitive, self-curious souls to better understand themselves, navigate their pain and joy, build self-esteem, cultivate presence and create their own calm amongst the chaos.

My practice is neuro-affirming, gentle and inclusive. My approach is grounded in curiosity and playfulness and built on a solid foundation of compassion, humility and trust. My methods are client-led and evidence based, backed by solid training and professional qualifications, interwoven with decades of lived experience.

Life is hard. Home, school, relationships, parenting, work - trying to navigate it all on your own can be confusing, stressful and overwhelming. You don’t have to do it by yourself.

Let’s figure it out together.

  • Cut through the noise and get clarity on what's important
  • Find balance and better manage stress and overwhelm
  • Prioritise yourself, your needs and your own growth

Who I work with

I work with people of all ages and from all walks of life, but the majority of my clients tend to be people who've always felt a little bit different from everyone else. That could include:

  • Kids or teenagers with wild imaginations, boundless energy and insatiable curiosity
  • Humans who make stuff: creatives, artists, designers, engineers, writers, and thinkers
  • Neurodivergent people with or without a formal diagnosis
  • Innovators and instigators who gag when they hear 'that's the way we've always done it'
  • Those who don’t meet society's neurotypical expectations or fit neatly into everyone else’s boxes
  • The daydreamers, doodlers, punks, pirates and poets

I help folks to understand and appreciate themselves. To work with their brains instead of trying to force themselves to be like everyone else. To embrace their unique skills, harness their strengths and corral their innate creativity as they reconnect with their own identity, values and self-worth.

If this sounds like your kind of jam, then let’s have a kōrero - no pressure, no obligation and no cost.

"Lee has an uncanny way of asking difficult questions in order to get to the real issue at hand. I worked with Lee for professional development and he helped bring awareness to some underlying issues that had been affecting both my professional and personal life - that I had no idea existed before! While it was confronting, it really helped me build an understanding of aspects of myself that were holding me back. Since that conversation, I can see when my unhelpful tendencies arise and can use mindfulness skills that Lee also taught me to not let them control my behaviours and thoughts."

Reaching out or asking for help can often feel impossible, and so I've tried to make it super simple to get started.

The easiest way to get in touch is to send me a message. Or, if you're feeling brave and ready to get going, you can go ahead and book a free, 30 minute intro session right now. During those 30 minutes, we can talk through what is going on for you, what you'd like from our sessions, and we can see if we might be a good fit. No obligation, no pressure, and no charge.

Or, if you'd prefer, you can drop me an email at lee@leeyoung.co.nz and i'll get back to you as soon as I can.
